4/30/2023 0 Comments Monthly expenses for homeowners![]() ![]() I can take the amount, and divide it by 12 to determine the monthly amount. ![]() Homeowners Insurnace is a one-time, annual bill.I do, however, want to identify what the monthly amount is. I don’t get a monthly bill for Homeowners Insurance, Property Tax, Water, and Garbage. For our purposes, we’re going to focus on housing expenses – bills for the house itself, and bills for house operations (e.g., internet for the computer, maybe cable if you pay for cable, monthly security system fee).įor this purpose, this is my list of monthly house expenses I want to focus on: There are also personal category names people give based on their situation, needs, and wants. You can google for a monthly expenses list, and you’ll notice some recurring category names people give to certain expenses. With property taxes, however, it is an ongoing expense with no end in sight. With a Mortgage, there is an end-in-sight (when you finally pay off your loan). Not only do you have to worry about a Mortgage (paying back the loan to purchase the house), another big-ticket item is saving for Property Taxes. When you’re a homeowner, your bills will be higher, you get more types of bills, and you have more housing-related expenses to budget for. ![]() We sometimes question the bill and think, “Did I already pay for this period?” Most importantly, we have to remember when to pay a bill. We forget where the paperwork is – whether physical paper and/or electronic. It’s stressful, and anxiety-inducing when we think about the large dollar amounts, and the multiple bills from different companies. Why? It’s probably the most expensive need, want, what-have-you for most people. Housing expenses are probably most people’s number one priority when it comes to managing one’s personal finances. ![]()
